The resort will span the area below Hemphill Creek to I-40 and Purchase Knob – bordered by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and serve as a full-service lifestyle center for popular area tourist attractions.

Cataloochee Wilderness Resort will be located just off I-40 and Highway 276, an area with traffic counts of more than 10 million vehicles annually. The area is within a day’s drive for 75 percent of the U.S. population. The region is easily accessible by air via Asheville Regional Airport, Charlotte or Atlanta International Airports, and a number of local community and smaller regional fields offer service for smaller aircraft.  The closest attractions within two hours or less of the resort include Asheville and Biltmore House and Gardens, Maggie Valley and Cataloochee Ranch/Ski Area, Nantahala River Gorge, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyway, Chimney Rock Park, Folk Art Center, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Sliding Rock and Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.
